Speedo numbers

Post by Stubee »

I know this topic has been done before but I have question over speedo numbers as mine over reads. It's a 1968 Traveller with 1098cc and std diff and gearbox (as far a I know!) running on 145/14 radials (Build No 1224619). The unit fitted is s/n 4419/04 with 1376 under the 1/10th's digit (also has the part circles on the dial). According to the Potteries MMOC site it should be 4423/06. If the diff is the same what is the difference between the units? I notice the later ones have a plain black face.
Thanks.

The available list shows SN4419/04 fitted to the traveller up to chassis number 1203563 with SN4423/06 fitted from that number onwards. Your advice would appear to be correct. I do not understand the 'plainer face' reference?

Thanks, I'll look out for a replacement. The plain face reference is that some I have seen have just a black face with the numerals showing Mph & Kmh. The one I have has thin white circles on the centre and Mph only (it does look nicer though!).
