Brakes sucking

Post by TheLaird »

Hello all,

I'm having a bit of bother with the brakes on the Winchester. I replaced the rear brake cylinders today but now when I press on the brake pedal there's a strange kind of sucking and wheezing sound coming from what I assume is the brake master cylinder. Do the brakes just need bleeding or is it a bit more serious? Basically I haven't a clue whats wrong and shouting at it hasn't seemed to have solved anything.

All the best

Bleed them through, sounds like air being forced around where it shouldnt be!
Ultimate rust cure for your moggy....paint it brown, at least that way you dont notice the rust as much!!

They will certainly need bleeding. Sucking noise is strange - unless you have a servo fitted ??

Obviously not loud enough but seriously as mentioned you have bled the brakes after the cylinder change.
Cheers
