Drive it Day photos

Post by lynda »

Looks like I'm the first one home, so I'll start the pretty pictures thread!

This is from the Royal Oak in Bishopstone, Wilts. Cold but dry, housemates have just fed me pizza so I've defrosted now.
There were some lovely classics there, including 4 Morris Minors.

Very nice Lynda, I hope you had a good day 'cos it looks like you're dog tired, sorry  Anyway it looks like I could have a busy evening ahead of me.

Took part in the Central Scotland drive it day outing. Great turnout with cars coming from as far as the west coast, to the first stop off point at The Falkirk Wheel, then on to South Queensferry. Great variety of cars, three Travellers two Moggy saloons. Everything else was a good mixture of makes. Triumph Heralds, Viva Van, Humber Hawk, Triumph Spitfire, and many more. Sadly I was relying on my mobile phone for pictures, but low battery killed that idea

Next stop was at Leith Docks, but I stayed at the Ferry to help a stranded Triumph driver. I don't much care for Edinburgh City Council anyway, due to their politics regarding cars. Weather was sunny, and met some old friends from the MMOC Scottish Branch. Although I didn't stop to do a head count, I reckon about 80 cars were parked up at the Ferry.

Went for a jaunt round the Angus Glens - only saw a TR7 on my travels - still, everyone noticed me

I went to Crich Tramway village. A great place, shame the weather did not match!

Upset of Mansfield, greart turnout of Minors but,..... attended (understand that Critch Tramway organised..........) however, felt I HAD ANTHRAX, (it appeared we parked where the CULB normally park) and we where not welcome. LAST EVENT I ATTEND that is organised by anything to do with MMOC/ gazibos etc. I left at 1200 in disgust.

A shame, I'm sure - but can't make head or tail of what you're saying, I'm afraid

If greart = great and CULB = CLUB, then the rest of it seems obvious enough to me ! It's an attitude i've come across before too.

Bit of a low key Drive it Day here. Drove the van to work (happens most days anyway) then got the lowlight out for a toddle round the estate. First time out for some time so was nice to get it running again. The Land Rover in the pic was more of a 'Push it Day' outing... Not many about to see, other than the guy in the next unit but satisfying nonetheless.:)

Brakes again!
Lubricated the pedal bar but it didnt seem to do the trick
But!
Possibly hadnt given it enough use afterwards to release... as an hour after being towed home the brakes seem to be fine (for the first time in months)! Will test it more extensively now!
