Anti Roll Bars

Post by Matt »

I've got a midget antiroll bar kicking about and was thinking about putting it on the morris...

the arms on it are probably going to be too short, so it really needs to be mounted under the sump or under the gearbox facing forward...

Has anyone got any pictures of an anti-roll bar on a minor? Specifically the mounting points?

Thanks

The ones in the kit from OB fix just forward of the tie bar front mounting.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

my brother inlaw had a midget bar that he fitted to his A35 before he did this I offered it up to my minor but it was a bit narrow & the arms were a bit short. I have got hold of a marina anti roll bar that im thinking of fitting as the inner & outer mounting points match the minors width pretty well. for the inner bushes im thinking of welding strenghening plates with captive nuts on then using universal anti roll bar bushes by superflex. I havn't quite decided on the outer links yet but triumph spitfire droplinks fitted upside down are looking favorite at the moment but I'll think about that further when I decide what damper kit I'll be using I was also thinking about fitting it rearwards so the twisting forces will be closer to the center of the car where its stiffer. All still ideas in my head at the moment though

anti roll

Post by Willie »

My first type of anti roll bar was short so that the mounts were fitted to the chassis beneath the sump. The drawback with this arrangement was that the bar prevented the removal of the sump for shell removal etc.
My present one uses the engine mount tower to chassis bolts, much better.

I'm running mk4/5 cortina antiroll bar, with cortina inner mounts and clio 91 on end fittings. All very simple and cheap.

width is perfect and it fits really easily.
