Cam, I bought a service kit from the MMC in Brum, and another from Bull Motif in Evesham, and had no problems with either. There again, both kits were identical, using branded items.

Ray, and so it all becomes clear! Cheers, mate! ;)
Happy Minoring!

Thanks for that Gareth, I was going to steer clear of the MMC in Brum but if you have had good results with the kit then it might be worth considering them.

I've used ESM for ignition parts (coil, plugs, points, rotor arm, condensor, dizzi cap) since April 1999.

All items have worked perfectly - mind you. my old rotor arm did about 7,000 miles after I bought the car and it still looks fine (I keep it for a road spare). These cheap and nasty copies are what you get if you don't use a specialist.

Bert Taverner has a letter posted in this month's Minor Matters about the cheap 'new' rotor arms.

Ray, I have had stuff from Bull Motif (at shows mainly) and they sell really good stuff. I tend to get mail-order stuff from ESM as their website is pretty good, but if I have to pick stuff up (large items) then it's usually the Brum MMC, but I have had no end of trouble with their stuff!

Actually while we are on the subject, in a few months I should (hopefully) be buying the replacement panels for my Traveller (things like, floor, sills, crossmember etc). being as it is a big job to do I want to use the best quality panels possible. I don't mind paying twice the price for quality stuff as I think it's false economy to do otherwise, so any ideas where I should go for the panels??

I get the MG ones from the MG place next door to the Brum MMC and they are REALLY good quality (British Motor Heritage panels), but the Brum MMC only seem to sell thin slightly rusty panels that don't quite fit properly.

I have aquired a job lot second hand if you want to have a look.
Might be more similar to the Brum ones you didn't like.

I did wonder about all theis when Henrics closed (before your time Cam?). Their stuff was unbeatable. Allegedly the LMC stuff was going to be the next best thing but I've not seen enough to be able to comment.

I might take you up on that Ray, although as you say they might be a bit poor. Yes, I think Henrics was before my time (mid 2001). LMC?? I presume that's the London Minor Centre??

Matt, I know they might be different quality (the Brum MG and Minor ones are) but are the Sprite panels any good?

They seem to be pretty damn good!, there are a couple of bits of distortion around the pressings, but it seems to be descent metal with a descent coat of paint! i was quite impressed! But i havn't had any panels that actually show, just the ones behind the transmission tunnel and all the panels around the spring hangers
