Currently at £5600.00 reserve not met. How much is a pickup like this valued at?theminorsite wrote:D'ya know, he's written that up so well I'm almost tempted meself!

I wondered that too, but then in fairness it looks pretty much minted (obviously looks can deceive) and many peeps are turned off by commercials. That's a pretty rare colour too, presuming he isn't telling porkies and it is original. I'd hazard that Russ would have a figure in mind because he's about as expert as it gets on them, but I'd say that £6k'ish isn't totally out of the question.leafie wrote:Currently at £5600.00 reserve not met. Put it this way, I'd see it as a fair thousands worth more than this one http://www.theminorsite.co.uk/ads_item.php?id=469 (no offence to that owner intended, some cars are worth more than others!), which is currently being offered on my site.

I read the ad, but didn't manage to spot a single bit of info - maybe I'm missing something!
So they don't actually know where the resto was done, or when, or any history of the vehicle before the last handful of years - or whether the colour is original, or whether the chassis is original - or even if it is rotten (although it 'looks' ok...). No mention of whether the CAB body number matches, and no production trace details to verify their claims either.
It's a good job it's not patched up underneath... oh apart from the few patches.
oooh - found it on the second read - the bonnet actually IS an LCV version (unlike all other items which 'appear' to be correct)
No offence intended to the seller (or the LCV - which could well be great) but such an extensive use of maybes in an advert leads me to raise my eyebrows and shake my head.
Once bitten, twice shy.

I would imagine a quick phone call to the 'thought to be the work of' restorers would confirm if it was their work - or not. Can't imagine why the paperwork isn't with the car - after all, the cost of the resto must have been eye-watering! And reserve at 'under £7000' !!
Is this indeed an 'original' colour ?

If so, I've *never* seen another one in all my years Minoring. Not that I'm by any means an expert, but I'm pretty flippin' sure that by now I'd have come across at least one!

coogee,
I'm pretty sure your pic shos a slightly dark shade of Old English White, not beige. (maybe the museum in Bedfordshire?)
The Trabi next to that Minor is certainly a genuine production colour
