Golf Seats

Post by d_harris »

Has anyone fitted Mk2 golf seats into their mog?

I've got access to one that looks likely to be scrapped and might nick the seats if its do-able.

As long as it's not too wide and it can probably be made to fit mate.

Is it from a 2dr?

It was only an offer! :D

I might just take what I want from it and offer it as a freebie on the golf forum - see what happens

VW Gold MKII seats aren't the best for adapting.
Look at how they fit into the Golf - and then try and work out how you'll convert that to a Minor.
For those who don't know VW use the inner sill and central "tunnel" for mounting and not the floor. The adjuster is, however, a completley seperate rail - on the floor and at a different level to the side mountings !
At very least you'll need to make some sort of subframe so work involved probably means it's not worth the effort when there are loads of others more suitable.

As Paul says they would have no for and aft adjustment because the notches are part of the floor of the car not part of the seat frame.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

some kit/race car suppliers sell universal seat runners it may be possible to fit somthing like that if you cut the original ones off the seats & made some brackets up to mount them on

Maybe, but its a whole load less hassle and cheaper to build off what you already have.
