I got £20 for one that had been standing in the garden for four years - full of water!

We took it to a show for a 'prop' and someone bought it for photos for a book on A series engines that he's writing. Tried to give it to him, but he insisted on paying!

Last one I sold went for £500 :D But then I'm so tight, I wake up to see if I've lost any sleep.

So if you drop a pound by the time youve bent down to pick it up its hit you on the back of the head?

Absolutely, doesn't need to be a pound either, anything over 10p will see lightning reflexes kicking in. :D

I'd imagine its a very limited market - 803s I bought a reconditioned one (still in bits) for around £100 a year or two back, but a lot of folk I know with Series 2s either have later engines in or are thinking of fitting ones, just to make them a bit more usable. Its really only the 'original' enthusiasts who'd want one.

If you're buying, just look out for the bargain, if you're selling, then ebay may not be the best place. Message board or Minor magazine might be better.

(I fall in both camps btw, my '53 convertible is 1098 powered and very happy it is too, but the '55 van project will be 803cc just because...)
cheers
Iain
