Sad day :(

Post by Furrtiv »

For I am no longer a Moggy owner.

In all seriousness, what with the new job being fifty miles away and the troubles I had with the Escort and still owing my garage rather a lot of money yet needing a newer car - I decided to trade 'Ector in to repay my debt and pay for something a wee bit more modern.
Poor 'Ector deserves to be fully restored and then sold on to a loving home, and he will be as I gave strict instructions to the garage that he's not to be broken for parts. Indeed, they agreed that he was still in too good a shape, but he's very tatty and worn out, with many bumps, scrapes and a shabby interior, so as I have neither the funds nor the expertise and time to give him the TLC he needed, he was handed over (actually, they've had him for a little while due to fixing the alternator problem).
I feel gutted, really upset and strangely empty. On the up side, I am having a small pay rise next month, just a month after starting my new job, because the manager was extremely impressed with my work, so I can start saving the pennies for another Traveller soon. And at least this time, I can just keep saving and saving until a one in excellent condition is within reach, might take a couple of years but I'm determined to be an owner again, and I'll definitely want a trouble-free one!
I will also still remain a member of this board and the owners' club, as I want to retain all contacts and keep the friends I've made in the brief time I've been around.
Just feeling very deflated right now . . . . . . . . .
Re-employed!:D

Hi a sad day indeed.
Lets hope as the penny pile grows your feel sadness will shrink.
Hang on in there once again, youve had a rough old few months.
Best Wishes

Very sorry to hear that
Fingers crossed everything improves for you in a big way and you'll be back soon telling us all about your shiny new moggy when youve won the lottery :-)

Sad day indeed. Think positive though, save up for that special Moggy and all will be well.

You should have said that you are temporarily without a Moggy, we have a couple of branch members that have been without but looking stage for over 10 years believe it or not and they still come to meetings and rally's, the Important thing is your love of the cars and remember to come to the National (as its not far from you) and visit the Website stand that Roger is organising and you may then meet some of us face to face as well as the gallons of Tea :D and if you are lucky a piece of cake :P
If you need a little insentive get one of the Traveller models the ones by Saiko are pretty good and all the doors open and are slightly bigger than the normal Corgi ones, and are often in toy shops for a few pounds.

Now why didn't I think of that ! a lot cheaper on the maintenance side too. :D

Dont give up Furtiv - keep coming to the rallies and do come to the National. Like Kevin said you dont need to own a moggie to be a member. Keep in touch.
