Hockey sticks

Post by Nimrod »

How are they fixed on? captive bolt, or clipped over the bolt heads that bolt the front of the wing to the front?

There are three 2BA studs screwed into the casting with nuts on them. I found the studs tended to unscrew rather than the nuts, so I made a new set and Loctited them in.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

speaking of which! sorry to bring this subject up again but I have a NOS hockey stick, which I intend to use but if I can give it to a manufacturer to take measurments on it? do you think this will help improve the part? Thanks

Assuming you get the nuts off you may find the hockey stick is still a pain to remove. this could be due to the fit of the wing. Sometimes the wing holes don't line up with those of the front panel and the wing needs to be worked carefully in or out to release the hockey stick bolts that pass through both.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Not really, frank, they are reasonably made, but often machined at the wrong angles where the studs are screwed in. Its basically just another chroming issue with them, rather than form.
