take it off 1st, but then I can't see any particular problems.

If you want to really clean it soak it in petrol/thinners/white spirit etc, then take it out and run a bit more through it... then put the airline in it ;)

If it's the oil condensor type that is fitted to the tappet cover, you could blow some of the wire mesh into the crankcase, which could possibly block an oil way. Best to remove it and then blow it through, after soaking it in some parafin.

If you can blow back through it with your mouth then it is clear enough to ventilate the crankcase.

As others have said - don't do that! Only clean them off the car.

As I said mouth pressure will harm nothing at all, the air line was a different prospect! What exactly is your breathing system? Do you have a breather into the air FILTER or a cannister feeding into the CARB.
Also, what type of oil filler cap do you have?(solid or with a wire filter in it)?

i have a breather into the air filter andthe oil filler cap is a solid plastic one..there is then a pipe comming from the tappett cover.there are no filters in the oil cap,so its the old origional system.it works fine in the summer i think that the engine is not getting hot enough at this time if year to evap the moisture out

That arrangement is correct ', the swans neck tappet cover pipe is the inlet and, obviously the rocker pipe is the outlet. A good fast blast should blow the mayonnaise to the top for you to clean out. Don't forget to clear the top rubber pipe, it can block with mayonnaise.
