waxoyling inside the sills

Post by ndevans »

Another gem from "Learning the Hard Way" productions.........a small paintbrush attached to a piece of cane about a foot long by a couple of cable ties will help no end in getting a bit of the black sticky magic stuff right up along the inside of the sills. If you have a phone with a camera you might even be able to take a photo of the insides first......... :D

I once lent my compressor, and proper rustproofing gun, to a mate for his Cortina when they had only just gone out of production - it was that long ago !
He totally stripped the interia and proceeded to Waxoyl every opening both outside and inside the car.
The pressure vaporised it and filled the car with fumes.
Took him ages to clean off the windows, dash and headlining :)
Car never rusted though - got writen off in accident instead a couple of years later !

Use a schutz gun on a compressor is the best way. Schutz guns are about £12 from Machine Mart and ALDI are currently selling compressors for £70 that will be adequate for a wax gun. Use the pipe that comes with the gun for inside the sills/ chassis legs, inside the A pillars etc.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO
