Hello Everyone

I thought I would register to your forum and tell you about this Morris Minor I have found....

I am actually into my classic minis and own a mini van, however I have friends that own morris minors and I think they are a brilliant little car!

I moved to Poole about a year ago and just around the corner from me there was this old abandoned minor 1000. It is not a split screen. As I say it has been abandoned and I thought I would let you know incase someone would like to rescue her. She is a complete car the only thing i can see that is missing is the steering colum!
The mileage reads approximatly 37,000 on the speedometer
This would be ideal for spares or a very brave restoration project

Checking on the DVLA website, the car was last taxed in 2002.
It was first registered on 03/07/1963
The engine size is 1098cc

The engine lift brackets are worth £5 on ebay right away!

Number plate alone is worth a few bob if transferable. Probably several hunded quid in fact. A few boxers would like it

Have you made enquiries with the land owner? I would doubt if legally one of us could just 'take it away' (more's the pity

).

I have been trying to locate the owner of the car. It is parked outside what looks like an abandoned house to me!!!

failing that you could probably get hold of it by filling in a V62 form available to download on the DVLA's website. The DVLA will then to try and contact the last known owner. If they hear no reply within 4 weeks.... The car is yours

I'm not interested in making any profit on this what so ever. I thought i would just tell you all, so someone could perhaps get another fabulous classic back on the road!.

Also the road it is on is VERY steep!!! so moving it is going to be ermm... interesting.

If anyone wants any more info (engine numbers/more pics etc) just let me know.

That would only transfer the registration to you, not legal ownership of the vehicle.

I aquired a car in this way and the car became mine. I moted , taxed it and drove it, then sold it as it was my car. I did not know that this was common knowledge, hence my posting above. Now it is on the site, there is no need for anyone to PM me.

Did you get a legal opinion on this? Having a V5C in your name does not mean that you own the car.

I know from personal experience that if you buy a car without a V5C and go through the V62 process to transfer the registration to yourself, then six months later the previous owner decides to report the car as stolen, you get a call from the police asking how you came into possession of the car.
