nut size

Post by rob.hardy1 »

I was reversing out of my drive, went off the kerb and heard a resounding clunk. In my best 'ignore it, it will be fine' mode i continued on my way and it didnt sound good. Upon investigation i find the following (see picture)
The astute among you will notice that all is not in order in that half the top trunion is missing. Roger from highworth has kindly furnished me with the big rubber bush, the washer and the thin locking(bendable) washer but the nut i have is just a little to small.
Can anyone on the net id the size and does anyone have i spare one kicking about or tell me, where does one get an odd nut?
I am in swindon but just happen to be traveling north to Loughboro tomorrow so can collect.
thank you

rob

Was there a split pin in there? If not, make sure there is on replacement :( As usual, as a moderator, I'm not allowed to name names, but at least one of the suppliers sells a kit for that area (search for Upper Pivot Kit) and may, if you call, do just the castellated nut

Split pin is at the other end of the pin, the end as shown has a knockover tab washer to prevent the nut coming loose.
