Some of you may recall that i had a bit of trouble with my last c pillar repair section, still in the end i got it sorted and in place. Well ive now got onto the other side, and my nice new C post repair section arrived......and its an even worse damn fit than the last one, i carefully measured it all out before i cut the remains of the old one off, yet when i get in a sortve correct position, the damn moulding lines dont line up with the rest of the wheel arch So not only am i going to have to sort that out, but also im going to have to reprofile it as well.....because like the other one, it doesnt match the door profile.
Damn waste of 15 quid!
Any suggestions?

Ultimate rust cure for your moggy....paint it brown, at least that way you dont notice the rust as much!!
I sincerely doubt it. Either track one down from a different manufacturer (probably just as bad) or spend the pointless hours reshaping the thing and put it down to bitter experience. Do let the seller know that it's rubbish as well though.

Welcome to the world of Minor restoration. Really annoying isn't it. Have you also noticed that the box plate is too short and does not meet up wioth the inner wheel arch as it should. I think the C post part you describe can be used but needs to be re shaped(nothing new there then) I believe they are the Sri Lanka parts which we hate, and wonder on which pavement or steps they were made. If it is an LMC I rest my case
Not that easy a part to produce as the bead needs to be rolled then bent so some fiddling is inevitable. best produced with a press and formers, however the evidence suggests that this is not a guarantee of a good part.
Couldnt you make on 'in situ'. i.e. weld a 'triangle' piece on to form the bottom then weld a thin curved strip to its side to form the top/lip doorshut area?
I dunno, just thinking out loud here...
This iffy panel situation is getting out of hand I mean there is fettling and dabs of Bondo, and plain just doesn't fit. Not exactly an easy repair with a good fitting panel, let alone a duffer.

Or an organised compilation of all problem here on the forum. But it seems that except for a few folk no one is experiencing a problem or are not bothered to do anything about it
Simple, open a thread,'Unsatisfactory spares' with a footnote asking what part where from and problems with, possible contact with supplier and response. Once we have a few pages of answers then we collate the information into a meaningful form and try and do something about it.
Call me cynical, but I won't be holding my breath
If we leave out the supplier, but name the part, we can pick up the sensitive aspect of criticism at a later date whilst compiling a hard copy away from the forum.
stainless stell exhausts that do not fit, badly exiting through engine bay floor
rear wings that do not fit or generaslly bady panels that do not fit
chrome work of course
bleed screws are an issue, as sometimes they do not have the correct thread
wiring looms with naff connecters to the rear of the speedo
i have had hand brake cables that have fallen apart
I went through 4 mild steel exhausts last year. All new, from the same supplier, all lasted under 600 miles, all cracked just uner the flared end which bolts to the manifold.
Big G-that old one you gave me is still going strong!
