Hello from me and my Minor!

Hi all,

I've been a member of the MMOC for a few years now and thought it high time I joined the forum

My Dad and I have done a rolling restoration on our Minor over the last few years resulting in a fairly presentable car (hopefully seen below)...

We are the fifth owners but the last 2 were in the same family and are known to us. It has been a Cheshire car all its life as far as we know, and was used daily until it came into our possession, 7 years ago.
However, now I am insured to drive it permanently (over 25 now) rather than a couple of weeks here and there, I want to get some more miles under its belt.

I hope to get to know some of you at meets/on rallies as well as on here!

Welcome to the board Ben! That's a very tidy looking car.

If you want to put some miles under your wheels this year, you could do worse that to join us on the AIR or the LEO rally.

Nice looking car Ben, you have to have a go at some or the runs. The roses run is a good one. It’s not a long run in miles but it a good test for the car. Moreover, lots of FUN.
Personally, I think it’s just the right amount of time in the car before the dreaded Morris minor backache and the Moggy walk/stoop sets in.

Thanks for the links to the AIR and LEO discussions Alex. I am away for AIR but the LEO, well......watch this space

The colour was meant to be almond green. Before we got it painted, we left a glovebox lid with the chap so he could get the paint colour mixed. As you may be able to guess, the colour of the lid had faded slightly in the sun, hence a not quite almond green colour

but its pretty close.

Funny you should mention the Roses run Overider, a friends' Dad thrust a piece of paper at me with the details on it recently, looks a nice trip. Will investigate further.

I did the above post then realised I had not put it in, should be on the profile now. To clarify I am in Cheshire, a few miles south of Manchester.

Its a shame they didn't use the inside of the glovebox for the colour match as that would have been ideal and the bodyshop should have known that, but an excellent car all the same.

A very good point. Though on reflection, the photo I posted above was taken on a wet day in October in quite an odd light.

This one may be slightly more true to the colour.
It was taken about 2 minutes after we drove the car back from the paint shop
