Another MOT Done

Post by MoggyTech »

No drama, just another simple drive it there, pay the garage £35 and drive home smiling. New mechanic did the test this time, so first question he asked was "Where's the bonnet release". Second question "Where's the switch for main beam/dip". :D

One thing that amazed him was the efficiency of the brakes, and no I don't have a servo, just standard drums on the back and Marina Discs on the front. Fronts gave 220Kg with perfect balance, and the rears gave 180Kg again with perfect balance.

So that's it for another year, well chuffed...

The answer to both those questions is.... "If you can't find them you had better do the test for free" ;)

Yes they are open to suggestions and off beat comments :D Been using this same MOT garage for 15 years, great service and good mechanics.

Oooh! Do you think I could drive Albert up there for a first MOT? Could I justify that as a legitimate journey to/from for the purpose of making the test? :D
Tell you what though, Southampton to Livingstone would make a good shakedown and run-in for a newly rebuilt car, eh?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Interesting idea, and I can't find any section of the RTA that says the testing station must be closest to you, or even local. Pretty sure plod would find something to throw at you though :D
