Did a quick look on fleabay - saw a few mini complete assemblies going for crazy money - they look identicle to the mog one, are they the same? The only ones i saw had green stalks.
Saw a new OS mini one for £75 + P&P so the NOS mog one i got for £50 incl P&P seems quite a good deal now.

Did spot the later double mini one too with the wiper control arm on the other side, that might be a nice mod if it fitted.

OK maybe stupid question the problem with my amber lens is that it lost its amber colour if I buy those small model kit paints in clear orange do you think it will work?

Frank
You could do as you say or dye it with some orange/red dylon in warm water.
Either way you choose to do it, try another bit of plastic first before you do the lens though, in order to get the tint right. If you dye it dont boil it or you'll melt it!
Alternatively you could try and find a bit of orange cellophane (or quality street wrapper) to roll up and put inside...
Me, I would leave it and have a look around autojumbles and bygones car bit stalls for one :D

Not poo pooing this, so please don't take it wrongly, but have you actually tried this? It's just I find it hard to believe that it would work, given the poor way that Dylon takes to many man made fibres

no andrew, haven't tried anything yet I'm just asking for ideas to try to keep it original as we've already said the green lens fits on directly so I can fit one of these, Thanks dave for the advice but autojumbles are rare here! to be honest I've seen one once and just one stall!

Hi Andrew
I design (and prototype) injection mouldings, (nowadays on 3D software), but some years ago I had to dye a prototype at work as the customer wanted a red tint to the component, and I hadn't any red tint acrylic.
I mixed up some dylon in some hot water and did it then. Granted the tint wasn't that deep, but it stained it enough to do the job. I seem to remember that it took a long time, maybe even a few hours :D I also seem to remember that it wasn't a very big bit, but it had been thermoformed. I didn't want to paint it as paints can often attack and crack thermoformed parts. :D
Cheers

That's a bit sexist Kevin!! How do you know that there aren't any nail varnish wearing men on the site? :o They can't all be beardy weirdy real ale drinkers

Frank - I suggest you check out the nearest chemist or beauty parlour to see whether they have anything suitable in stock. Orange nail varnish isn't particularly in fashion at the moment but you might find a suitable shade in the bargain bucket. Or ask one of the ladies behind the make up counter whether she has anything that matches her skin tone

That's a bit sexist Kevin!!
Whoops  it wasnt meant to come across as that.
And I have not seen any blokes in the local nail bars either so you can see why I am ignorant on the subject :o
Cheers
