Must make the steering pretty heavy when parking (small wheel = less leverage) my girlfriend would never get anywhere with it!
Be alright for us blokes at the right price though however I think the big thin rimmed wheel is all part of the mogggies charm!

salty_monk,
It's not the heavy steering that is the big problem - it's when the wheel is pulled out of your hands (over potholes) that causes accidents / injury.
I'm sure most people who have one are very relieved when they go back to a proper steering wheel ;-)

I sort of had some luck. I bought one from eBay but it was not as good as the description and photos stated. It will do for now but it was not what I wanted really.Did you have any luck finding a Series II wheel? And are the Series II Landrover steering wheels the same? theres one on ebay now which looks similar to that green Minor wheel that was on ebay a while back.
I would imagine that the landrover wheels are totally different. The design looks similar but the bosses look different.
Just had a look on eBay for other Minor ones and there are only series 3 or 5 wheels there (and the small one - which I have a few of).
Thanks anyway!

this talk of steering wheels has reminded me of my mot days and the importance of checking the pinch bolt which hold the columb to the stering rack. it is a check that the mot must do without fail. get down there and look every time the teachers insisted. and in the station it was always done. never seen any problems with then though but it is an item that must never be overlooked. also a good tug on the wheel to check for any up down movement of assembly.
