windscreen washers
Frustratingly I packed up this afternoon and went for a great drive in the sunshine through some lovely countryside around Eakring, Nottinghamshire. I should have been putting the parcel shelves back after successfully replacing the washer system. All new bits used except the pump which I got from the Midland Rally. I know it all works as have had a go on the work bench. Does anybody know if the length of pipe is critical to the pump, it seems that the pump is not pulling enough water from the bottle to blast onto the windows. I'm trying to keep as original as possible and avoid electrics, it's driving me nuts!!

Is there a non-return valve at the end of the pipe in the bottle? If not, it'll probably be trying to pump air, which is never good

The pump worked on the bench, all the parts are new, 3/16 pipe from bottle to pump and then to reducing T - 1/8 to jets. I thought it may be the length of the pipe, bought 8 feet, possible about 18 inches too long, I'll cut it down in the morning.
Thought this would be one job that was straightforward!!
