Replacing load bay lining in traveller.

I have just bought a set of carpets for the loading bay of my traveller. It looks pretty simple but the wheel arch cover look a bit 'iffy. Any tips on how to fit them niceley. The covers came to me what looks like inside out and need some 'shaping' .

Hmm not seen one of the loading bay carpet sets only the standard vynyl sets and they are shaped to suit the wheelarches.

You need a really good contact adhesive like timebond. The carpet wheel arch cover kits I have seen, need to be shaped to fit as follows.

Form cover over arch and you will get some creases in the carpet in the lower section that reaches down to the floor. These need to be slotted with a very sharp stanley knife, then trimmed to form an invisible seam.

Takes several attempts to get it right, so go easy with the trimming.

I have fitted the arch covers, the loading bay and the seat back. Looking nice. I have sourced the alloy i need to screw down. I need to polish the alloy strip. I got a dremmel type tool from santa and it has about 1000 different little tools with it but i need some advise an the best way to get the strips 'shiney'

When you do get them shiny you will want to coat them if shinyness is your thing.
The alloy strip will dull with oxidisation - hence once shiny needs a barrier between it and the air.
brasso much easier than dremmel

just make sure you clean off the brasso residue with an approprite thinner/spirit before you spray on the laquer/yacht varnish.

After following the forums advice i have done the luggage compartment, the first bit of renovation i have EVER done and i am quite pleased with the results. Thanks for the input. ( after then before) if your not sure.
