braking problems!

hi guys i'm having a problem with my brakes ie. they don't work. i've recently replaced the front cylinders, pads and all seals in the master cylinder and blead the brakes well. there just doesn't seem to be much pressure there and when you brake hard the steering wheel vibrates a lot. i've checked the pipes, seals on the master and everything is tight with no leaks anywhere. i'm lost with what to do at the moment so any ideas are very greatly recieved.

Could simply be new shoes needing time to bed in, filing a taper onto leading and trailing edges helps. Could also be drum ovality causing brakes to snatch due to poor contact area with shoes.

I did a complete brake system replacement a few months ago apart from master cylinder. So cylinders, shoes & pipes. it juddered only noticed it as the brakes actually worked wheras they pretty much hadnt before.
It did the same and got worse as the new brakes bedded in. Right thinks me and replaced all the brake drums.
It got still worse.

The answer was a complete set of rubber bushes from Bull Motif - yes i know people will say get poly bushes but i dont need them & these were really good bushes.

Anyway only got the fronts done so far, backs will be going on with the set of sparkly recon springs as and when time permits (cheers BMC they are great)
Just with the front bushes replaced completely it was a completely different car to drive - think the trouble was that the brakes previously were so innefective that once they worked as supposed to it just emphasised how shot the bushes were.
Some didnt look so bad until they came out, but all that slack was now being used by the effective & biting brakes.

The pro polybush brigade will tell you the relatively short life of rubber ones so stands to reason if they are old then thats likely the cause of the judder

The lack of braking could be that the rear brakes aren't doing their share ! Have you looked at them yet ? For example - the handbrake should be able to lock the rear wheels from 20 mph - with a good tug! Also - are the front brakes 8" diameter or the early (useless) 7" diameter ?

Are you using pads with a disc setup or shoes and drum?
