I have just replaced the heater core and the feed wire to the motor came off - not at the spade end to the motor but the other end of this wire i.e a bullet connector behind the dash. I can't find where it goes back into. I have tried two connectors and they seem to be dead even when I swithch on the ignition and the heater switch. Any suggestions?
If it's the green wire it should go to a rubber bullet junction (4 wire) just above in the wiring. The junction also has 3 other green wires in it. Tracing it back it should go to the voltage stabiliser, live stack side.
It is a black wire, the green wire coming from the switch is connected to earth via the mounting bracket. I have tried two connectors above already. I'll try and have a look in the morning for a another bullet connector.
Ah I have just been out to check, and the green does in fact go to the switch then to earth. The Black wire goes to the Green stack, reckon it's been changed round at some point as AU says.
it seemed they did differ, but all worked of course, you can as a last resort connect the supply to one of the toggle switches, say wipers i think, i seem to remember a van of mine was wired that way
Thanks for all the advice guys. I managed to find the original connector above the dash - I had been looking too far over. It is now all back together and working.
What a difference a new matrix has made, I also changed the stat to 88 and blocked up the fresh air intake - nice and toasty.
