As per title - curious as have been reading up on various fuel addatives etc, some of which can damage various components through a given fuel system.

I seem to remember its rubber with a plastic cover membrane.
I've just looked at my spare.
Three layers two rubber ones that seem to be reinforced and a thin plastic layer - feels like polythene on the petrol side.

This message board is like a family - you can't choose the other members!! But remember engine oil is thicker than water.

please see HERE polythene has good resistance to acetone. Might be OK.
What is the worse thing that can happen? The petrol would leak into the electrical side of the pump and explode. So no problem there then.
