I think there a good peice of history to have. When I bought the traveller one came with it detailing spec, colour etc. It also stated how near to the end of series 2 production it was.
I recently got one for the lowlight which helped date the car to get its original number plate back, this had been lost due to the car being off the road since 1973!!! Also stated the car had been supplied to the ministry of supply.
They are pretty pricey now, lowlight one cost about £35.00.
Was well worth this to help get number plate back.

It's basically a copy of the factory record for your car so shows details of the make / model / colour / trim / date of build / date of dispatch / destination (dealer) / gearbox number / key number and details of any factory fitted options.
An interesting thing to have if you want to know more about the history of your car.
