Sorry everyone, I was feeling full of Christmas cheer, having just finished work for the year, and the word crossmember seemed faintly amusing.
It doesn't now, in the cold light of two days later.
Still it gives me the chance to say Merry Cristmas & Happy new year to one and all.

Sill - something that belongs on a house under a window where it can be ignored but all too frequently attaches itself to our cars just below the doors and dissolves leaving a light brown dust where steel should be
