topping up Ford Sierra gearbox

Hi all,

Not wanting to sound like a plank (if they make any sound?) but I am doing my first service on the moggie since it was converted to a Ford Sierra gearbox. Can anyone confirm if the place to check the oil levels (and top-up if necessary) is in the same (ish) place? ie: I need to remove the gearbox cover? I assume so...

Also, what oil do I use to top up?
