2008 Interbranch Challenge

Post by alex_holden »

Just splitting this off into a separate topic...

Arr, ahoy there me hearties! Who wants to become a Web Pirate and help build and/or sail a raft in the Interbranch Challenge at next year's National Rally?

So far we've managed to press-gang:
Alex Holden
Roger Rust
Ray of Leamington

Yaaaarghhh ye scurvy infested fenchurch droivin land lubber :D :D :D

Bit of rule clarification - can a dog count as crew? seeing as Scampi will be coming along for the trip to the national - if not dibs on the lightest offspring over 12 years old.

Already worked out to win in true scrapheap style :D

And this will be the as yet formed worldwide island morris owners branch (better than just here cause will be a bit short on members otherwise

Only if it's over 12 and can wear a life jacket. ;)

When it said "no internal combustion/electric motors" I was thinking along the lines of an external combustion engine, but that probably doesn't count as "human or wind power".

Are we allowed to sink our opponents? :D

I'm not sure stuffed parrots would fit with the James Bond theme...

I was thinking more of a submersible Lambourghini ;-)

If the pig has a good sized methane output that may help with the propulsion output

When considering raft design, you might like to know that the water is around 2ft 3ins deep. However, don't get any idea about walking since the mud underneath is at least that deep as well !

Is this a calm lake or a flowing stream?
