Hi all, can anyone out there tell me how I can wire a push button old radio using a battery charger or something similar so that I can test it before fitting to mungo. ('56 splitscreen) that's been converted to neg earth.
your help would be invaluable and can you keep it simple as i'm not to clever on car electrics.
cheers sid
A battery charger usually contains a step-down transformer and a bridge rectifier only. It's output is unsmoothed DC. Connecting it to a car radio without the addition of a smoothing capacitor usually leads to disappointment. Best to connect the radio to a car battery as suggested above.
Hi all, I take it then all I have to do is take a lead from the pos' of the battery to the radio pos' and a lead from the radio neg' to the neg' on the battery, and then add the speaker and the airial and it should play. ( hope that's right)
thanks for your input.
