Oil pressure warning light
On the way home tonight, Fenchurch's oil pressure warning light started coming on at idle. According to the pressure gauge the hot idle pressure is about 35PSI, and at higher revs it goes up to about 50. The light goes out when the gauge is showing about 40PSI. Faulty pressure switch?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Yes, quite common and extremely unlikely that your pressure gauge is
that far out! If your HOT tickover is around 35 psi that is excellent but
it should be at 60 psi HOT when running at 30mph in top gear with that sort of tickover reading. Your Oil Pressure Relief valve (domed nut
to the rear of the dizzy) may need checking for spring length. The length should be 2 55/64" (72.63mm).

The oil pressure light worked OK again today.
I'll get a new one anyway next time I put an order in with the suppliers.

Pressure switch replaced and everything is back to normal. It was a little disconcerting when the light kept coming on at random.
