Panda car on TV this Friday

Post by lynda »

This Friday (that's the 16th, in case anyone is reading this next week  ) my panda car will be on TV! The Thin Blue Line, ITV at 8pm. Dad's spent all day with them today for the filming. Thanks to the Moggy owner near Harlow who stopped to ask if they'd broken down! They hadn't, just setting up for filming.

At one point Dad was with the film crew van, and the reporter was in my car, parked in a pub car park. A woman came over and asked Dad if he knew the way to somewhere. He didn't, so she said "I'll just go and ask the policeman then". She'd headed over to my car before he could explain...

Pity you couldn't get on the set of Heartbeat while you're up this area, I'm going to have a drive over there this coming Sunday, weather permitting

I always thought that a Minor was a poor choice for a Police car.
Think about it, you're burgling a warehouse a 1am, and you hear the unmistakable sound of a Minor approaching. Let's face it, it's either the Police or the Royal Mail................

Go at 12.30am then :-?
Don't forget though, when they used Moggys they were quite fast in that era, in our area they used the good old Mini as a panda with Triumph 2000's as patrol cars  modern cars would leave them standing now.

Apparently there was a problem with the sound recording, so they can't use the film of my car after all :(

Oh dear, that's a shame. Wonder if the Moggy exhaust note made the director think someone had been on the curry :o

At least Dad's still getting paid for the days filming....

It looks like I'll be getting my 5 mins of fame, even if my car isn't. Look North are coming to film me at work in a couple of weeks time!

They called it Look North on the phone, so I'm presuming it's that one. As I have no TV, I'm not really sure which area we'd usually receive!

I think they want me out of the way by the time the hall reopens. For some reason, they don't want their floors covered in dust and walls covered in polythene when the paying visitors arrive....
