not quite Mongolia (maybe next year if I can't get from Novosibirsk into China...). Have recently been in/around Forres, Elgin, Lichfield, Leipzig and Berlin

Ray! you could have popped up for a chill out - well if it wasnt the day the ferries were all cancelled. Next time your up that far drag your friend from Forres over for a beer

Sadly - I couldn't for 2 reasons.
Firstly I had chores (dog sitting / painting the new porch / regravelling the garden etc...)

and secondly - my Merc died the second day I was up there

'Apparently propshafts only work properly when they are connected to the gearbox'. That seems rather pernickety to me, buit I rapidly learnt that a loose propshaft can do some rather undesirable things at 60mph.
