If you think about this for minute (which Mr Lug Nut obviously didn't) a car wheel is possibly the worst shaped object to fire a 12 bore at at close range. Guaranteed to get multiple richoches in all directions. Someone needs to send him a Faulty Towers video while he recovers in hospital. Beating an Austin with a tree branch is just a wee bit safer. :D

I guess he wanted the wheels off to 'shot blast' and paint them...

Obviously not his turn for the family brain cell.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

sorry to pick on our friends over the pond but,

I read in the shooting press a while ago about a man out in his chevvy pick up late one night when the lights went out. He managed to trace the problem to a blown fuse by the light of his zippo lighter. He didn't have a spare so he looked for something else to fit the fuse holder after a while he descovered that a bullet from his browning was just the thing! Problem solved he set of on his way home. Unfortunatly the problem that had blown the fuse was still there so the bullet got hotter and hotter and hotter .... until it shot him in the groin!

I'm reminded of the clever/stupid balance that means for every clever thing done a stupid action of similar magnitude happens elsewhere in the world.

Am I going to have to link to Snopes again?

Mythbusters also covered this one.
