Finally fitted a momentary switch for the electric washer
Had an on/off switch for my electric washer, was a pain in the neck
Now over the moon with my new switch from Maplins - you flick it and the windscreen gets washed
Woohoo

ESM sell a good one by durite.

It has a metal shaft on the switch lever and is stronger than the plastic switches.
While you are in maplins see if they still sell intermittent wash wiper kits. They used to sell a nice variable one that also gave a couple of wipes automatically when you 'blipped' the washer switch making a quick screen nice and easy. While you are at it the twin jet washers are a nice improvement.

Oh! must admit I never thought about that. My pump came from ESM and provides enough pressure for two twin jets. Water hits about halfway up the screen and the blades push it about a bit further. Definately not as powerful as a modern car though. I did originally have a combined washer bottle and pump off a fiesta that worked ok.

the van had one of those, it was good, sadly it didn't want to part company with the dash when disassembling van for resto so had to be melted out with small blowtorch flamedunketh wrote:I have a really good one in mine.
Its a single black button, you push it in and water squirts out.
You push it harder and water squirts out faster.
Sometimes needs a bit of 'priming' before anything comes out but it always does the job in the end.
