They are often worn with 30 -40 years wear and tear and when all said and done make the input shaft run nice and even reducing strain on the gearbox and its only a couple of quid to replace and the last one I did was badly worn on 2 opposing positions.These bushes rarely wear - so as earlier - seriously consider just leaving it be !
