hi, just getting a wee bit carried away with the questions but...
am i right in thinking that the positioning of the rear brake cylinders on the marina axle are on the opposite side of the backplate to the minor ones? if so...is the handbrake cable long enough to use, or do you have to use a marina one?


also...is it possible to remove the choke knob from the choke cable? i assume it is glued on or something, but would quite like to buy one of the "superior quality" ones on esm, but they only come in black...

and again...does anyone know the size of the motor that goes into the back of the heater on the earlier minors? as in, how big can it be before it touches the "radiator"?

Just an idea but can you simply swop the back plates "left to right and versa" so it puts the handbrake levers in a better position for the standard Minor handbrake cable ?

Check in case that gives 'trailing shoe' brakes instead of 'leading shoe' - with considerable drop in braking effort when going forward - but would be excellent in reverse!

I just turned the back plates on my marina axle a 1/4 or 1/2 turn(I can't remember)no need to pull out the halfshafts.
Then weld on a mount to take the morris end of the handbrake outer.
Job done.

With regard to the choke cable.
I have changed the knob on mine and if I can get a push me pull me solid choke cable will do so again. I would suggest you look for a fairly stiff cable so that it helps when shutting the choke.

You need to re-use all the existing fittings at the dashboard end and replace only the inner and outer cables. With a small drill bit drill out the crimps. The cable is also soldered in so melt the solder and pull knob off. Reversal is straight forward, but I didn't crimp the fitting.
