I've bought a new clutch and have just got it out of its wrappings to fit it to the van.
Looking at the driven plate, though, the damper springs seem very varied. One doesn't move at all within its slot. Two move a little bit. The last one moves around very loosely in its slot.
Is this discrepancy a problem?

Also, the release bearing surface is scratched in a couple of places, and has a small chip out of one outer angle. Again, is this a problem?

I have no idea if this detail makes any difference, but it's one of the non-coloured springs which is loose
