Screen vent screws location?

Post by mickessex »

After spending hours looking at photos on the net and not finding what i'm looking for, I thought I'd post here.

The 2 screws which hold the ducts to the screen air vent slots on every car I've seen photos of are located on the windscreen side of the vent slots. In my car 1960 saloon, they are located on the steering wheel side of the vent. anyone else have this on their minor? or anyone know why mine is different?

I'm not going to change it what ever (that would be stupid), but would just like to know out of interest.

here's a pic of mine

Hope you can see, as only just took the pic in the dark! as its bugging me now (Thanks Andrew) .

I think this was probably sold without a heater and a past owner has fit one and fit the heater ducts wrong. It’s easier to drill and screw them at that side if the windscreen is still in.
HAVE IT! LOVE IT! DRIVE IT!

That would explain why I've seen one or two without any screws.

BUT only the Home Market didn't have heaters as standard as far as I am aware. All non LCVs that were exported certainly had heaters as standard. Even my lowlight, and that doesn't have have a waterpump...
