I just started another topic about this before I found this thread. The ESM bung (same as gearbox one) doesn't fit in my Traveller either.

I wanted a bung, because I though water was getting into the footwell through that hole (damp, rusty carpet underlay). Maybe I need to look elsewhere for the leak...

I'd be more worried about water getting into the chassis leg :)
