Difference between HC and LC 1275?

Post by dunketh »

How do I know which one I have?

I've lost the engine number so thats no help!

Not really fussed which it is to be honest, just curious as I've been reading up on A series stuff recently due to having nothing better to do at work.
What would Macgyver do..?

It's a Midget 1275 lump isn't it? Don't think they ever came in low compression form. Although it could be argued they were all low compression - 65hp from basically the same engine as the 70+hp Cooper 1275 of the same era...

Compression check will give an indication. But if genuine Spridget engine - it will be the 'high' compression.
