Crazy prices

Post by rayofleamington »

A friend was trying to tell me today that tidy Minors are now worth 10 grand!! Apparently he'd read that in Practical Classics.

I managed to guess the source of that info without needing 3 attempts :D
Is anyone on here able to prove that £10k is genuine?
If so, I'll tidying mine up to sell

They do (in an entirely non-derogatory fashion, natch) tend to talk complete and absolute, um, stuff I don't agree with pretty often...

The local garage here has an immaculate Trav for sale at £8,000, and I'd say even that was over the odds :D

A trav? You'd need a fair bit from a car, and it would be a shame to waste a proper Mog ;)

I agree, I read a 2001 edition and compared it to one from this year, they even had contradicting advice.

You never get it back though. :(

Easily spent 2k on mine but would struggle to get 1k for it selling. :(
People dont care that its on all new brakes, suspension, mechanical components, etc..etc.. when it looks like a total wreck on top.

Alas, I've found the article that I think your friend was talking about it's in 'Classic and sports car' magazine, it's an interview with Charles Ware and he stated that most of the newly restored cars that they sell go for between 6,000-10,000.

So yes they do sell for 10 grand but thats the completely new, top spec., proffessionally restored ones.

As I have said before, I would not sell my original Series II for less than £15,000
