Side windows stuck - sort of - advice?

Post by Bluesman »

Guys/gals -

what´s the best way to make the side windows go up and down smoothly? Seems like they stick to the felt/rubber channels during their travel. The mechanics in the door are OK, and work well - it´s just the window glass itself that needs smoother travel.

Ideas, please?

Cheers /Richard

WD-40/candlewax/some other lubricant  on the slider?

I think you can get new felts for the window channels?

Make sure the sliders are parallel and haven't been deformed, though.

Common cause is glass loose in bottom lifter channel, causes the glass to tilt slightly and jam in the runners. I used double channel draught excluder from Homebase, which is a prefect fit in the lifter section.
