fixing 400 day clock..

Post by picky »

not exactly connected to morris minors, but it is from a similar era!

I have a 400 day clock made by Herr, that has the suspension spring missing. I cant find any part numbers anywhere, other than the following markings:

on clock face it says Herr,

on the back of the mechanism it says:

NO (0) JEWELS
UNADJUSTED
MADE IN GERMANY

UHRENFABRIK HERR K.G.
GUTENBACH

How can I identify what spring to use? I joined a clock forum but its a bit quiet in there... :o

oh dear dear dear dear LOL Go get him BG

Glad to hear you got it sorted picky - just make sure you put the springs the correct side of the workings unlike the charger :-) only ribbing you - surprising what can be found on there to be honest.
and although its been too complacent to assume that goog will find what you need in the last 3 days ive found info needed that didnt show on there but did on msn, yahoo & believe or not altavista.
