Appeal - Items required for the 2008 National Rally
Hi all
An event being considered for next year's National will require around twenty-five assorted buoyancy aids or lifejackets.
I have approached a number of well known jacket suppliers but none are able to either lend or hire the items. Can anyone suggest a company who might be able to assist, or do we have a marine section who could each provide a couple of garments?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
YESDoes Andrew know about this

That's why we need the buoyancy aids !!but worry as ever about insurance
I too can provide three, but myself and a.n.other will need to wear one each ourselves; so that gives us four found and 21 to go.

Hi simitc have you tried asking your local scout or scout district troop I use to be a scout leader and we us to have a annual canoe proficiency course which ment that all those taking part had to have bouancy aids, spray decks and helmets and I know that we use to lend ours (not hire insurance problems come into other wise) to various organisation for a small donation to scout funds also try you local girl guides. We also use to lend out camping and tent equipment for said donations its wonderful what they what they can provide in the way of equipment and help. And our venture scouts did car parking duties all in aid of raising funds.

You never said if you tried your local scouts,(hard Hats) not necessary no but advisable yes, then if you have provided them and advised them to use them, its upto them to use them. Lots of thems there. Like I said earlier I was a scout leader and on our canoeing activities my job was beach master and sure as eggs are eggs some one would bang their head. Todays the age of where there is blame there is a claim
