The Morris 8 Series E front light conversion is interesting - when I had an 8E I proudly converted it the other way - to upright lights - but then I wanted to see at night! the pic from the rear is too small for me to see any detail - and yes i think it looks great - but does it have any suspension travel ??

well, quite simply, its not a Minor anymore,so no i dont like it,looks like one of those cars that was built to see if it could be done, almost a bit like the modern day minor built by the Brum minor centre

Beacause (for me at any rate) an awful lot of the appealing bits of the design have been smoothed over and de-charactered (grille, headlights) and some truly horrible bits put on (mirrors, wheels)

I'm not restoring Dibble to look like that!

If I was to buy that car, i'd start at the price of a relevant condition convertible (B), then work out how much in parts and paint would be needed to get it back to standard(A), then take A from B and offer the result C.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Hello Overider,

"Why?",

because it is far too visually modified, I prefer cars to look like they are rather than a caricature. I do like performance modified cars but if they retain their 'standard' appearance that is a bonus. Understated rather than overstated, a wolf in sheep's clothing is far more fun.

Its to Beetle like for me, and if I remember one of the specialists did a similar front wing conversion using Beetle headlamps and that didnt prove to be much of a seller and I dont remember seeing one apart from their publicity one.
Cheers

Why not send more stories like this to Minor Matters as well, after all it is the official club magazine.

I can understand the purest amongst us and i too like an unmolested moggy. But if ever there was a moden day moggy i would want it to look like this. This is a good example of a moggy with all the mod cons with lots of power and stopping capabilaties to match. and without any masive changes to its appearance.

How do you know they deleted the submission?

Personally I think the car is pretty ugly, particularly the excessively lowered suspension.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
