Chertsey Concours

Post by Lou »

Yes, it's that time of year again... extending an open invitation to our infamous unconcours competition where you definitely won't win a prize for having a lovely shiny car (sorry, Roger) :D What better way to pass a Monday evening? Starts at 8pm at our usual meeting place (see mag for details) All welcome...

Directions sent :) All categories are decided by the judges, often up to 10 minutes before judging begins. Categories last year included Biggest Dent, Most Number of Stickers and Least Interior...

This sounds like a really fun event. Alas I can't make it.

I reckon this should be included in next year's National :-)

Sounds like the sort of judging we have carried out in the past at our branch rallies. Prizes ranged from a wire brush for the rustiest, oil for the leakiest etc etc  :D

I like to think that all of our current concours entrants are more than approachable, and in fact believe that this is the case.

The East Kent branch is quite healthy in this regard as some of our keenest members (myself included!) run Minors as everyday cars and at Kent based events we often have everyday cars that some might consider "tatty" .

Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Maybe not in your neck of the woods perhaps but all the ones at our rallys and the adjoining areas are always happy to discuss all moggies including the well used examples, the only time you may find them a bit difficult to have a chat with is if they are preparing the car for judging, but afterwards they are always friendly and when all said and done their cars are great reference points as to how things looked when new.
Cheers

Surely not

As the proud winner of the 'most mismatched interior and different coloured wheels' category (not made up specially by Nigel, oh no) I have to report we had a cracking evening with a record turnout of 17 cars. My trophy now sits on my desk next to the website rally one...
Other categories were: Best handpainted car, Most polished (ie absent) front bumper, and Best car from more than one decade (don't ask) :D
