Well, I am completelt stumped on my weak starts. everything checks out ok but every morning is the same, a few weak turns and then dead battery. I think it is beyond my ability to deal with. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in Essex to help? I live in chipping ongar, between brentwood, chelmsford, harlow.

Lo, don't know what you have and have not done to prove what is wrong
but why do you not put the original dynamo back (assuming that you didn't remove the voltage regulator etc)??? Presumably it worked ok
before you fitted the alternator. If it works ok with the dynamo then
obviously your alternator set up is faulty. The only specialist anywhere
near you that I know of is through the Dartford tunnel but you need an Auto
Electrician....try the yellow pages.
