Sorry for the numpty question but...
Is the number on the plate top right of the bulkhead the chassis number (as you look from front) or is it elsewhere? If so where?
Cheers Chris

Hello chilly
What I can tell you is it just over 8,000 from the and and it was built at Adderley Park
Please vsit my site and register your LCV on line.
from what you have indicated nothing confirms it as an Austin as you have not provided the letters at the start of the chassis number.
Blank plates are avilable but thi forum prevents me telling you can purchase one, but please e-mail for details (cor now thats a big clue, but rules are rules)

it does nothing of the kind - members are allowed to tell other members where they can buy stuff. This kind of advice is exactly the reason for the free forum, and it is what most members come here for (freely shared advice, without a sales pitch). This itself being the reason why the site is the most popular and well frequented Minor forum.Blank plates are avilable but thi forum prevents me telling you can purchase one,
I can only presume this factually incorrect comment was a dig relating to the T&C's banning advertising.

nice one.
I'd like a replacement plate, as the one on my van was missing when I bought it. How do I find out the chassis number if it has no plate on it?
oh and do the repro plates have anything on them to mark the fact that they are not the original plate? (if not I guess I can punch something on it myself). I don't want replacement items to look as though they are original if you know what i mean

Yes Russ`s signature on the backoh and do the repro plates have anything on them to mark the fact that they are not the original plate?

Juliet most on the original stamps were not even as I think they were done by hand so doing it yourself will be well within period

Cheers

No - We're just asking that you to follow the rules of the forum that apply to all.Are you saying its OK?
As far as I'm aware they've not been changed!! therefore private individuals can sell their stuff, but traders are not allowed to advertise on the forum.

Bore Da Juliet
I had these made and supplied Stuart at MGM with them a few years ago. I have one left that Dennis contacted me about but I have not heard back from him. So if he does not want it you can have that one. They are slightly different from the later blue ones, there is no Leyland badge but they are good repros. The MAV5 or AAVC bit is not on there as on the originals these need to be stamped or engraved as we ll as teh chassis number
Hope that this helps, I iwll be in touch if this one I have is available, if you still require one
cheers for now
