Post by tom468 »

Hi there i am new to this forums and new to own my first morris minor i have some questions which i hope can be answerd.

What is the price i am looking at for a security device eg central locking?
Is fitting a radio hard todo?
and last one is.
I am looking for a good trimmer to redo the whole of the inside of my morris?
is there anyone who is good and affordable in the south west area?

Hmm. Central locking - still not heard of anybody who has managed that, though there have been plenty of ideas :(
Radio - very simple, though you'll probably want/need to convert to negative earth, very easy - and free http://www.mmoc.org.uk/technicaltips/Ne ... Earth.html
As for trimmers - don't know of any, I'm afraid, but again, it's not an impossible DIY job. I'd say 'pretty easy', but the headlining is a bit harder than the rest.

If you mean security devices in general rather than specifically central locking, there was a thread about this topic about a week ago.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

central locking

Forget central locking, fit an effective anti theft system instead. I have my own system which means than I have never locked the doors in the last twelve years. This prevents mindless ripping of the hood or smashing of the glass but prevents them ever starting the engine.
