Just looked at a 52 splitty and this has the extra hole in the bulkhead, as described earlier, I'm sure its for the speedo cable, as the dials are r/h and not central, there is no hole in the center of the bulkhead as per later cars with central speedo.

Interesting Johnathon. Is there any indication what the other two holes in the grommet would be for?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

On ours its the screen wash feed and the wiring for the ignition switch. However the wiring has been worked on so may not be original.

Russ the hole in question is just above the wiring loom hole, next to the heater hose holes. From the cars we have in, it only seems to appear on the old dash , rather than the later central speedo type.

Russ the hole is about 15 mm up from the loom hole and the same towards the top heater hose hole. Its the same size as the loom hole.

Russel. The hole in question would be (on the green commercial) halfway between the chassis plate and the main wiring loom hole (the one with the three securing screws).
It would appear, from information suplied from Johnathon, that it is a Morris feature but from the rest of you and all the books I have that it's not standard fitment on a '58 tourer.
